Meet the Liberty Universal Management Team

Jack Liberty - President of Liberty Universal Management, Inc. Mr. Liberty founded and built Liberty Universal Management from the ground-up to the largest Retail Commercial Real Estate Brokerage company in the Central Florida Region. Mr. Liberty brings over 25 years experience in the real estate business and is personally responsible for the lease transactions of over 4.2 million square feet. These transactions are valued at over 1 billion dollars in rental income, creating over $10 billion in retail center values. Mr. Liberty started his career as part of a team that developed, leased, and managed Wal-Mart and Kmart centers valued at over $150 million dollars in the Central Florida region. From 1987-1990 he directed the leasing of over $75 million worth of new properties for Lewis Properties, where he personally leased over 185,000 square feet. In 30 months Mr. Liberty developed and selected sites for over 130 Movie Gallery locations, totaling over 650,000 square feet, valued at over $975 million dollars. Mr. Liberty has also been selected as a development partner on projects such as: BJ's Wholesale Club, Home Depot, Kash-N-Karry, Lowe's, Publix, and Winn Dixie.

Janet Galvin, SCLSPartner, Brokerage & Leasing Services. Ms. Galvin has been a Licensed Real Estate Broker since 1984 specializing in retail.  Ms. Galvin exclusively represents tenants such as: AT&T, Gamestop/Moviestop, Sally Beauty, Firehouse Subs, NYPD Pizza, Snap Fitness, Weight Watchers, Alfred Angelo Bridal and Sports Clips. Ms. Galvin has significant experience in negotiating anchor deals,  land sales, ground leases and small shop leases. In 2008 she leased over 275,000 square feet for a transaction volume of over $41 Million Dollars.   Ms. Galvin has represented institutional owners such as Legg Mason, AMB, Nationwide Life, Mass Mutual, and others, as well as private investors. Ms Galvin has been a recipient of the Orlando Board of Realtors Circle of Achievement Award and was the recipient of the 2006, 2007 & 2008 CoStar Power Broker award, recognizing the top leasing agents in the Central Florida market. Prior to joining Liberty in 2000, Ms. Galvin was in charge of brokerage and leasing services at Pinnacle Realty Management and was responsible for the leasing and disposition of over seven million square feet of retail product.   Ms. Galvin has earned professional accreditation as a Senior Certified Leasing Specialist (SCLS) and is a CCIM candidate.

Paul Thomas – Associate, Commercial Leasing and Development.  Mr. Thomas is a Licensed Real Estate broker with 20 years of Commercial Real Estate experience.  Mr.  Thomas specializes in the buying and selling of vacant land and has worked on numerous retail development projects.  Retail tenants that Mr. Thomas has and continues to represent include Arby’s, Quizno’s, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Sav-A-Lot, and Pilot Travel Centers.  Development projects include those anchored by Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Publix, with outparcel sales to users such as CVS, 7-11, Exxon/Mobil, Taco Bell, AM South Bank and others.  Mr. Thomas’ primary responsibility with Liberty Universal Management to work with Mr. Liberty on site selection, the selling of company owned sites, land development and consulting.

Jill Gull – Associate, Commercial LeasingMrs. Gull’s primary focus is the leasing of multiple retail centers in Central Florida.  Prior to joining the Liberty Universal Management, Inc. team, Mrs. Gull spent ten years in publishing management and sales, working with top level executives covering a full spectrum of specializations.  Mrs. Gull earned an undergraduate degree from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C

Brandon O'Brien – Associate, Commercial Leasing.  Mr. O’Brien joined the Liberty team in August of 2009. Prior to joining Liberty, Mr. O’Brien worked for CB Richard Ellis, specializing in both Tenant and Landlord leasing, with a concentrated focus on institutional owners and national tenant brands. Since joining the Liberty team, Mr. O’Brien is specializing in leasing representation for multiple shopping centers. Mr. O’Brien earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida.

Gerald Cason - Associate, Commercial Leasing & Development. Mr. Cason has been a member of the Liberty Universal Management team for more than nine (9) years. During this time, he has diligently pursued and added other National Retailers such as CCS Financial, Solantic, LLC, and Dollar General to the growing Tenant Representation Agreement List. He has leased or has pending a total of 332,628 sf including tenant representation, which is an increase of more than seventy-five percent (75%) over the prior year. During this same time period, Mr. Cason has sold and contracted to sell vacant land and existing improved properties totaling $20,955,000. Mr. Cason is currently focusing on another company he started and helps Liberty on a part time basis. 

Ann Freeland - Property Manager, Ms. Freeland has more than sixteen (16) years of experience with Winn Dixie Stores. Her position was as Area Property Manager, overseeing more than two hundred (200) stores. She facilitated all improvements and repairs while efficiently remaining well within her fiscal budget. For the past twelve (12) years, six (6) with Winn Dixie and six (6) with Liberty, Ms. Freeland has focused specifically on retail property management. Ms. Freeland is well respected by her peers, owners, and developers in the Central Florida region and will take the lead role in expanding this component of Liberty Universal Management, Inc.

Paula Duncan - Paula performs and/or oversees a variety of tasks associated with administrative and fiscal for Liberty Universal Management, Inc.  Paula also coordinates and facilitates meetings, program functions and marketing for all properties and trade shows. Paula is a native of the Central Florida area and earned a BS degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. Paula most recently served as Director of Marketing for Philco Construction where she was active in business development, marketing for the firm and served as an executive assistant.  Paula is active in the Central Florida business community and in her free time, works with a number of volunteer organizations such as Children’s Rescue Network, Make-A-Wish, Susan G. Komen Foundation and Children’s Home Society.
